NEW YORK UPDATE, Wednesday, October 9-

Did a New York undercover detective have a hand in the beating of an SUV driver by a group of motorcyclists?

That’s what prosecutors argued Wednesday, when Wojciech Braszczok was charged with first-degree gang assault and first-degree assault– both felonies — and third-degree criminal mischief in connection with a September 29 incident on Manhattan’s West Side Highway.

Video shows Braszczok, who was off-duty riding with his motorcycle club at the time, was an active participant in the beating of Alexian Lien, the man dragged from his Range Rover and beaten, according to prosecutors.

Sims was one of two bikers who turned himself in to authorities on Friday. He has been charged with attempted assault, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

UPDATE: Police say they have identified the biker seen on a video bashing in an SUV’s window.

Authorities have identified and will soon apprehend a motorcyclist who played a direct role in the beating in New York City of the driver of an SUV, a law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation told CNN.
