Researchers say Sprite is the cure to hangovers.

A study published in the September 2013 issue of Food and Function showed that chemicals in the non- caffeinated beverage can halt the next day feeling of death.

Chinese researchers, Hua-Bin Li and his colleagues at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou, looked at 57 drinks, including herbal infusions, tea and carbonated beverages and discovered that Sprite was on of the drinks that best relieved hangover symptoms.

Researchers said “in the first chemical reaction an enzyme, alcohol dehydrogenase or ADH, converts to ethanol into Acetaldehyde. Acetaldehyde appears to be responsible for the pounding head, nausea and other unpleasant after-effects of drinking too much.”

Researchers found that Sprite and soda water were shown to speed up ALDH activity, which would allegedly curb the hangover.
