EDMOND, Okla. - Emergency crews rushed to the scene of an Edmond elementary school after witnesses reported that a scooter carrying a child was involved in an accident.

Authorities say an 8-year-old elementary school student was being picked up from Cross Timbers Elementary School by a family member shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday.

The pair got on a scooter and were driving out of the school's parking lot when they hit another vehicle.

The scooter fell over and both the girl and her family member are being checked out by paramedics.

Fortunately, no one suffered any serious injuries.
