TULSA –  The Tulsa Zoo celebrates the 63rd birthday of Tulsa’s first elephant.

Gunda has been at the Tulsa Zoo longer than any animal and at 63 years old, she is one of the oldest Asian elephants in human care, which is why she makes history every day.

Gunda has lived at the Tulsa Zoo since 1954.

Gunda will receive an elephant-sized cake after guests sing a birthday song to this important pachyderm.
