MIDWEST CITY – A Midwest City high school teacher is facing a charge of sexual battery after he allegedly touched a girl inappropriately.

The allegations involve a 16-year-old student who says 40-year-old Dewayne Williams grabbed her by the bottom and pulled her into a hug when she stopped by his classroom.

Authorities say the teacher then allegedly closed the door of the classroom and pulled her onto his lap.

The student also claimed Williams touched her inappropriately.

Williams, who is also a football coach, denies the allegations and told a school police officer he spoke with the girl for a few minutes, then gave her a stick of gum before she left the classroom.

Williams has not been arrested.
