CHICKASHA, Okla. - Police arrested a teacher's assistant at Chickasha High School Thursday night. Authorities accuse 30-year-old Mario Castro of giving beer to a 16-year-old boy he was tutoring, then taking him to McDonald's.

Court documents show that "Castro attempted to grab [the student's] penis while in the restroom."

When questioned by police, Castro said "'I did it' because 'I wanted to see his attraction towards me.'"

The alleged incident happened in the summer but the teen just told a counselor about it last week.

“The teen is placed in an awkward position after that, simply because they do trust that person and [is an] adult that they respected and they don’t know how to deal with it,” Chickasha Assistant Police Chief Elip Moore said.

Castro's neighbors said the arrest came as no surprise to them. They didn't want to be identified, but say they've had to call police on him several times when they heard disturbing noises coming from his apartment.

"Loud noises, thumps. She was, or somebody was calling for help and crying," neighbor "Susie" said.

Castro has been at Chickasha High School for five years. He has worked one-on-one with students many times, but school officials say they have never had a problem with him before.

Now they're working with police to protect the rest of their students.

“It’s absolutely concerning because if this subject would try it with one, why wouldn't he try it with the other,” Assistant Chief Moore said.

There are no other reports of abuse right now, but police say many times other victims start coming forward when they know they're not the only ones who suffered.

Castro has been suspended, with pay, from Chickasha High School pending the outcome of the trial.
