Accident shuts down OKC street, driver trapped inside car by power lines

OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities closed down a local road at the scene of an accident after learning that power lines are trapping one driver inside a vehicle.

Shortly before 2:30 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to the accident in the 3900 block of N.E. 23rd St., which sent power lines crashing on top of one of the cars.

Since the power lines were on top of the vehicle, the driver has not been able to get to crashsafety.

After crews arrived on scene, they were able to make contact with the driver.

Officials learned that the two cars careened into a temporary power pole.

At this time, N.E. 23rd St. is closed to traffic.
