OKLAHOMA CITY –  As much of the state prepares for a winter blast later this week, a popular event in Oklahoma City has been canceled.

The Oklahoma History Center announced that it is canceling its “Deck the Halls” event, which was scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Organizers expected 500 to 750 people to show up to the event.

At this time, it has not been rescheduled.

Edmond officials have also canceled the city’s Parade of Lights and the Mayor’s Tree Lighting celebration.

Both events were scheduled for Saturday but now residents will have to wait another year to enjoy the activities.
