Medical Examiner confirms now 8 weather-related deaths in Oklahoma
OKLAHOMA CITY – Officials are now confirming eight deaths across the state from the latest winter storm.
Monday, the State Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the deaths are all weather-related, ranging from auto accidents, to fires and sickness from the bitter cold.
Victims include a 5-year-old child killed in a car crash in Muskogee and 6-year-old boy who fell through the ice on a frozen creek in Tulsa and a 77-year-old woman who died from hypothermia.
We are still waiting on the official cause of death for a man found dead under the overpass at 23rd St. and Broadway but officials said they believe it is weather-related.
The names of those victims have not yet been released.
