Police arrest 66-year-old man for drugs, firearm possession

ENID, Okla. – Police in Enid say they have arrested a 66-year-old man for narcotics and possession of a firearm after discovering a dead body in his home earlier this week.

On Monday, officers were called to the 400 block of W. Walnut after someone found 43-year-old David Wimmer lying in a pool of blood.

Once they arrived, paramedics determined Wimmer had died of an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.

Authorities learned that 66-year-old Michael Berdahl was the resident of the home berdahlwhere the shooting took place.

They were able to find him in Kansas, where he was arrested for possession of narcotics.

Investigators also found a firearm that they believe was used during the crime on his person.

Berdahl was arrested for possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and possession of narcotics.

According to a news release, paperwork is being completed at this time concerning the murder.
