Oklahoma soldier among those killed in Afghanistan helicopter crash

HEAVENER, Okla. – Residents in one Oklahoma town are mourning the loss of an Oklahoma native who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this week.
The Department of Defense announced the deaths of six soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
The soldiers died on Dec. 17 in Bahar, Afghanistan when a helicopter they were riding in crashed.
Among those killed was 34-year-old Chief Warrant Officer 2 Randy L. Billings, of Heavener.
He was assigned to the 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division that is based in Fort Riley, Kansas.
The crash is now under investigation.
