OKLAHOMA CITY – After grounding the Rockets Sunday night, the Oklahoma City Thunder is gearing up to start the New Year on a winning note.

The Thunder is preparing to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on New Year’s Eve at 7 p.m. inside the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

While tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., organizers stress that fans should expect to get to the arena early with all the downtown activities scheduled for Tuesday night.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

During the game, the team will recognize officers in the Oklahoma City Police Department’s Springlake Division, who went above and beyond to make sure one family could have a home for Christmas.

Tuesday’s game will mark the Thunder’s sixth New Year’s Eve match-up.
