Man hit by train while trying to drive across railroad tracks

ALVA, Okla. – One man is dead following a train accident in Woods County.

Authorities rushed to the railroad tracks on County Rd. 480, near the town of Alva, around 5 p.m. Monday.

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, an oilfield mud truck was crossing the railroad tracks when it was hit by a train.

The train was pulling 88 rail cars at the time of the crash.

The driver of the truck, 47-year-old Michael Linn Weber, was ejected from his vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe he was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The conductor and engineer on the train were not hurt.

The crash is still under investigation.
