NEW ORLEANS – While Sooner fans are flocking to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, the team is enjoying its time in The Big Easy.

Pictures on the team’s Instagram account show the players are getting a chance to have a little bit of fun in between practices.

Charles Tapper, a defensive end for OU, said, “We are having a great time. This is a great experience. The Sugar Bowl is treating us very well.”

So far, the team has been visited by the cheerleaders for the New Orleans Saints and been able to stop by the local aquarium.

While it is evident that they are enjoying their time away from home, coaches say they are focused on the game.

Mike Stoops, OU’s defensive coordinator, said, “The players have prepared well. They’ve looked at it as a great opportunity to see where we’re at against the elite program in college football, and that’s how you go into this game. Again, there’s nobody fearful, that’s for sure. We’re excited to see where we’re at and how we match up. And our players prepared well.”
