NASHVILLE, Tenn. - This Arctic blast is taking its toll on some geese in Nashville.
Two of them got stuck in the ice on a frozen pond downtown but city officials came to their rescue.
A Parks and Recreation employee used a kayak to reach them and broke the ice with a mallet.
One bird had some difficulty moving and was taken to shore to be examined.
It is not clear how long the birds had been stuck but they are safe and warm now.
