OKLAHOMA CITY - Putnam City School District released video of the bus crash incident in which the driver hit a man crossing the street in his wheelchair.

It happened Tuesday at the intersection of NW 54th St. and Portland Ave.

The victim, Don Walker, is still recovering in the hospital.

While, difficult to watch, the video of the crash can help investigators decide who, if anyone, is to blame.

The dash camera captures the moment the Putnam City school bus driver hit Walker.

The driver pulls up to a stop sign at the intersection and waits for 15 seconds before turning left.

You can see the sun shining in the left corner of the screen.

It partially blocks the view of the roadway.

Once the driver turns left, the bus collides with Walker's wheelchair.

Another camera captures the view inside the bus.

You can watch the driver as he waits at the stop sign.

He looks left and right several times before making the turn.

When he's satisfied that he can go, he sets off but sees Walker too late.

The driver and the two students on the bus were OK but paramedics rushed Walker to the hospital.

The school district sent NewsChannel 4 this statement:

"A Putnam City school bus was involved in an unfortunate accident Tuesday afternoon. The thoughts and prayers of district officials are with the gentleman injured in that accident. The district will continue to provide extensive safety training to drivers with the intent of making school bus transportation as safe as possible for all."
