Former Oklahoma State University student receives Oscar Nominee

TULSA – According to the Tulsa World, A Tulsa native and former Oklahoma State University student received his first Academy Award nomination on Thursday as the production designer of the best picture nominee “Her.”

Keith “K.K.” Barrett is a production designer known for his work on feature films by Spike Jonze and Sofia Coppola.

Barrett was born in Omaha Nebraska and ended up moving to Oklahoma to attend Oklahoma State University, where he got into art and music.

Barrett played the drums in a band called “The Screamers.” At the end of the band, Barrett started getting into visual projects and making videos.

Where the Wild Things Are (2009)

Marie Antoinette (2006)

Lost in Translation (2003)
