OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is preparing to add nearly 50 new members to their ranks.

A new Highway Patrol Academy begins today here in Oklahoma City where 48 new cadets will report to the Robert Lester Training Center for orientation.

The new recruits will undergo a rigorous 20-week law enforcement training program preparing them to be part of the team of state troopers.
