PIEDMONT, Okla. – Fire crews are investigating what sparked the blaze at a Piedmont home overnight.

Witnesses said you could see the flames from a mile and a half away.

Just after 1:30 a.m. Piedmont and Oklahoma City fire crews worked to put on the fire in the 1500 block of Canyon Rd. near Cemetery Rd. and Washington Ave.

Authorities said a neighbor called 911 when she saw the fire.

When authorities got to the home, flames were shooting from the windows.

Firefighters had to truck in water because of the lack of fire hydrants in the area.

Officials said the homeowner is safe and no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

Authorities are still investigating what started the fire.
