After 44 Years, A Coach Says Farewell

Long time Millwood girls basketball coach Arnelia Spears celebrated four decades of coaching on Tuesday night.

Spears coached her Millwood girls to a 53-30 win over the Oklahoma City Storm home school team.

It was Spears' final home game as the Milllwood coach, 44 years after she first started at the school.

She's retiring after this season, wrapping up a career which featured more than 700 wins.

Following the game, several dozen of her former players joined her on the court for a picture.

Spears coached Millwood girls teams to 18 state tournaments and three state championships.
