2 skiers missing, after Colorado avalanche

COLORADO – Rescue workers will scour central Colorado mountains Sunday for two skiers missing after an avalanche.

The avalanche took place Saturday evening near Highway 82, between Twin Lakes Village and Aspen, in Lake County, Colorado, the county’s emergency management service said.

Three other skiers were hospitalized after the avalanche. Their injuries included a broken leg, a broken ankle, a possible broken rib and a collapsed lung, county authorities said. Two skiers walked to safety unharmed.

Officials have not released the names of the skiers.
