Cowboys Fall In Overtime to Baylor, Lose Seventh Straight

The Oklahoma State men’s basketball team lost their seventh straight game for the first time in 41 years to Baylor 70-64 in overtime.

Baylor out-scored OSU 12-6 in the extra period to beat the Pokes at home for the eighth straight game in Waco.

With 3.5 seconds left, OSU freshman Leyton Hammonds stole a Baylor inbound pass and hit a three pointer at the buzzer to tie the game and force overtime.

Cowboy senior Markel Brown hit a three in overtime to cut the Bear’s lead to 66-64, but the Pokes weren’t able to get enough defensive stops to win.

Brown played every minute of the ball game and scored a game-high 26 points.

Phil Forte played all but one minute of the game and scored 20 points for Travis Ford’s club.

OSU hosts Texas Tech, Saturday, February 22 for a 12:30 p.m. CT tip, it will be Marcus Smart’s first game back since being suspended for shoving a fan against the Red Raiders on February 2.
