EDMOND, Okla. – Authorities are currently battling a grass fire that is threatening at least one building and several hay bales.

Officials were called to the area of S. Midwest Blvd. and E. Simmons Rd. after learning about a grass fire that is out of control near some homes.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, the blaze had already burned grass and was threatening at least one structure and a group of trees.

It appears the homeowner used some sort of fire extinguisher to keep the fire from reaching their property.

Edmond firefighters are on the scene, attempting to stop it from spreading, along with putting out hot spots.

At this time, it looks as if the fire started near the road.
