LONG ISLAND – A car fell into a sinkhole in Long Island today as a woman was parking in her driveway.

Police say a 65-year-old driver had just arrived when the grounds opened up.

Gayle Sorrentino’s car plunged headfirst into the 10-foot-wide sinkhole.

She said she was in shock, but managed to call 911.

Rescuers pulled her out from the driver’s side window.

Sorrentino was not hurt.
