One dead, one in the hospital after tragic accident in Grady County

GRADY COUNTY, Okla. – Just after 11 p.m. Saturday evening along the H.E. Bailey Turnpike a 61-year-old pedestrian was stuck and killed.

According to OHP, A pastor and his wife stopped to help a stranded motorist along the highway in freezing rain.

He died at the scene.

A passenger in the car that struck him was transported to a hospital in critical condition.

Police identified the pastor as Rod Carroll, a pastor at Ninnekah Church of Christ.
