Radio Shack is struggling to stay in business after taking a severe hit in sales.

After a significant quarterly drop after the holiday season, the electronics retailer announced that it will be closing around 1,100 stores throughout the nation.

Although the retailer will be closing 20% of their stores, they will still have over four thousand locations nationwide.

This announcement means that thousands of employees will be without jobs.

They have not announced which locations they will have to close, but did say that location, demographics, and financial performance will be the key factors in deciding.

Reports say that Radio Shack has struggled to keep up with the online electronics retailers.
