TRENTON, New Jersey – A New Jersey teen filed a lawsuit against her parents and is demanding they pay her bills.

High school senior Rachel Canning claims that her parents kicked her out of the house once she turned 18-years-old.

According to the Daily Record, Canning is suing her parents and demanding they pay her private school tuition bill, current living and transportation expenses and future college tuition.

Canning’s father states that his daughter chose to leave because she did not want to follow his rules any longer, such as chores and keeping a curfew.

If Canning wins the lawsuit against her parents, she is also asking that they pay for the legal fees she incurred during the lawsuit, totaling $12,597.
