OKLAHOMA CITY – A new portrait is being unveiled at the State Capitol today honoring an Oklahoma novelist.

The portrait of Ralph Ellison is part of a year-long celebration for the acclaimed author’s 100th birthday.

Earlier this year the Oklahoman was honored on a postage stamp.

Ellison’s most popular works include Invisible Man, Juneteenth and Going To The Territory.

Ellison’s portrait will be unveiled on the second floor rotunda of the State Capitol at 10 a.m.
