Comanche County deadly shooting leaves one dead

LAWTON, Okla. – According to police, an out-of-town construction worker lost his life in a Lawton hotel.

At approximately 8:15 PM, officer’s responded to the Super 8 Hotel at 2202 N Highway 277 on a shooting.

Upon arrival officers found a Johnny Allen lying on the floor of the hotel room suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

There was also a second male in the room that was not injured.

The victim was transported to Comanche County Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Police were notified by the hospital at approximately midnight that the victim had died.

According to the second male, a black male entered the room through an open door and flashed a gun. The suspect told both men to get on the floor but a physical confrontation ensued between the suspect and victim. The victim was then shot numerous times and the suspect fled toward the apartment complex to the west.

Detectives arrived on the scene and processed the room, recovering evidence to include numerous shell casings.

Detectives were also able to interview multiple witnesses and obtained a partial description of the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’-9” tall and 140# (thin build) wearing some type of scarf over his face.

At this time, police do not have anyone in custody for the homicide.
