Cowboys Swept By Cyclones In Overtime, Again

After a triple overtime loss in their last matchup, Iowa State beat the Oklahoma State men’s basketball team 85-81 in overtime for a regular season sweep of the Cowboys.

The 16th ranked Cyclones trailed by 16 at one point, but were able to force the extra period and out-scored the Cowboys 14-10 in overtime.

OSU’s record falls to 20-11 overall, with the Big 12 tournament still left to play.

Marcus Smart led the Cowboys with 27 points and fellow Cowboy sophomore Phil Forte scored 13 points.

Travis Ford’s club will play in one of two first round games in the upcoming Big 12 men’s basketball tournament.

The eighth seeded Pokes take on ninth seeded Texas Tech next Wednesday, March 12, at 6:00 p.m. CT.
