OKLAHOMA CITY – If you are planning on flying anywhere this weekend, make sure you arrive to the airport very early!

Spring break is Will Rogers World Airport’s busiest time for traveling, so you should expect longer lines at the ticket counters as well as at the checkpoints.

The Oklahoma City airport has a few tips to help make your traveling experience go as smoothly as possible.

  • Arrive at least an hour and a half before departure time to factor in parking time and longer lines.
  • Be prepared to go through checkpoints.  Three ounces or less of liquids or gels must be contained in a clear, zip-lock bag.  Laptops must be removed from their cases and placed separately in a bin.
  • Wear shoes that will easily slip on and off.
  • Minimize jewelry or other items that may set off the screening machines.

A representative from the airport stated that many airlines now close flight check-in 25-30 minutes prior to departure to ensure on-time departures.

So make sure you check in at least 30 minutes before your flight so that you will receive your boarding pass.
