OCALA, Fla. – A 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy are in a central Florida juvenile detention center after being charged with trying to kill the girl’s parents.

According to reports, the girl had lured her mother into their garage where the boy cut the woman’s throat.

Officials say that the pair also put a knife to the father’s throat but he then successfully convinced them to take his wife to the hospital.

Investigators say the teens had been planning the murders for weeks after the girl’s parents told her that she could not date the particular boy.

They are both being held and are charged conspiracy to commit murder as well as attempted murder in the second degree.

The mother was taken to the hospital where she underwent emergency surgery and is recovering.
