(CNN) – A Georgetown University student was arrested after authorities found a poisonous substance in his dorm room.

According to a court document, Daniel Milzman, 19, was charged on Friday with possession of ricin.

Milzman admitted to making the poison in his campus dorm room.

A federal court judge ordered the undergraduate student be held pending a hearing next week.

An FBI affidavit shows that Milzman was arrested by the FBI and charged with possessing a biological toxin, which is federal offense.

The student bought the ingredients to make ricin at retail stores after learning to make the toxin on his phone.

School authorities notified the police of the substance after Milzman allegedly showed a bag that he claimed to contain ricin to his dorm adviser.

Preliminary lab tests confirmed the substance was ricin.

According to a CNN report, Milzman allegedly produced the substance in his room, then placed it in plastic bags sealed with hockey tape and stored it in his room.

The affidavit stated, the amount produced possibly could have been enough to kill someone had it been inhaled or injected.

Georgetown said in a statement that tests on McCarthy Hall for the presence of biological agents were negative, and there had been no reports of anyone being exposed to ricin.
