President Obama signed the Affordable Care Act four years ago today.

He released a statement saying “The share of Americans with insurance is up…and the growth of Health Care cost is down to its lowest rate in 50 years.”

Since signing the law, the president says 100 million Americans have gained the right to free preventative care like mammograms and contraception.

Eight million seniors have saved thousands on their prescription drugs, and more than three million young Americans were able to stay on their family plans.

He also says in the past five and a half months, more than five million Americans have signed up for health insurance on Healthcare.gov.

The deadline to sign up for coverage is March 31st.
