MURRAY COUNTY, Okla. – A father and two sons were out for a day on the lake when their boat suddenly sinks.

A fisherman rescued a father and son near the Point swimming area.

However, he couldn’t reach 13-year-old Baley Sechrist.

Park rangers say several members of the OHP dive team and four boats were out in the rain searching the Lake of the Arbuckles on Sunday.

Dive teams recovered Sechrist’s body on Monday.

Sechrist was a student at Highland East Junior High.

His mother, Michelle Sechrist, took to Facebook to post about her son.

She said, “My heart feels as though it has been ripped from my chest. I had to leave without my son yet again, as they have called off the dive teams for the night. I am begging you to stop what you are doing and pray for God to lead the divers to Baley tomorrow. We will soon exhaust all avenues and I refuse to listen to talk of discontinuing the recovery.”

She added, “I can’t begin to express how proud I am to have been chosen to be his mom. Baley spent every moment of his life helping others. His faith never faltered.”
