OKLAHOMA CITY- Residents and drivers near Lake Stanley Draper may notice some smoke coming from the area around the lake Wednesday morning.

Authorities with the City of Oklahoma City Utilities Department say the fire is a prescribed burn.

Oklahoma Forestry Services will burn about 270 acres between S.E. 109th and Water Plant Rd., along the lakeside of W. Lake Stanley Draper Dr.

The burn will begin around 12 p.m. and is expected to take about 10 hours to complete.

Officials say the burn will reduce overgrown brush and help control the eastern red cedar tree population.
