MUSTANG, Okla. - A day of fun celebrating our state’s history quickly turned dangerous.

A horse-drawn wagon carrying school children from Centennial Elementary School in Mustang was involved in an accident on school grounds along Czech Hall Road.

Thirteen people were hurt including nine elementary students, one high school student, two teachers and the driver of the wagon.

Three people were transported to the hospital, one student, one teacher and the driver of the wagon.

None of the injuries are life threatening.

Mustang authorities say the neck yoke of the wagon broke and spooked the horses.

The wagon then hit the back end of the horses, and the animals began running.

The wagon overturned and threw several people to the ground.

School officials say an automated call went out to parents to alert them of the situation.
