POLICE: 3-year-old toddler shot in chest while sleeping

NORTH CAROLINA – A North Carolina toddler is in critical condition after he was short early Friday morning.

Police say someone fired shots into this mobile home in Fayetteville – hitting three year old Ahmed Daniels in the chest while he was sleeping.

The boy underwent surgery Friday morning at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Police have released few details about the incident.

A family member said “jealousy” prompted the shooting – but did not elaborate.

According to investigators, no suspects are in custody.
