WASHINGTON D.C. – Hundreds of low-wage workers gathered outside the capitol Monday afternoon to raise their voices for a minimum wage boost.

Those rallying also called for a cut to corporate tax breaks.

According to NBC News, this week the senate is expected to take up a long-stalled push to raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10.

However, the bill is unlikely to make it to the senate floor for debate because republicans are expected to oppose it.
