DALLAS (KXAS) – A reporter for a television station in Dallas got his hands dirty doing a story on low lake levels.

While preparing for a live shot, NBC 5’s Jeff Smith hopped from a marina dock to the bottom of the lake.

However, his legs immediately sunk into the mud.

Smith decided to stay put for the live report but when it was over, he realized he was stuck.

His photographer, Kevin Williams, came to the rescue and pulled him free.

According to KXAS, other than suffering from embarrassment and continuous laughter from the newsroom, Smith was uninjured.
