MIDWEST CITY – It’s been fifteen years since a monster system of tornado’s hit Oklahoma – killing forty people and causing 1.2 billion dollars in damage.

May 3rd 1999 is a day some will never forget.

But the way Midwest City rebuilt – it’s hard to believe a twister ever touched down.

Hotels, restaurants, and a brand new convention center – almost out of nothing.

Some that were left with nothing, picked up and moved – but those who stayed got to see the city grow bigger and better than ever.

Many say it’s inspiring to watch other cities that have been knocked down stick together and grow bigger and better like they have.

Communities hit 15 years ago included Midwest City, Moore, Dover, Shawnee, Perry, and Bridge Creek.
