Thunder To Play Clippers In Next Round

The Thunder will meet the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs. The matchup was officially made after OKC took care of Memphis 120-109 in the 7th and deciding game of their series at “The Peake” and the Clippers held off Golden State 126-121 in the 7th and deciding game of their series in Los Angeles. The Clippers are led by former OU legend Blake Griffin and former Oklahoma City Hornets star Chris Paul.

The opening pair of games will be played in Oklahoma City starting Monday night and again on Wednesday. The series will then shift to California for games 3 and 4 Friday and Sunday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The teams split their four (4) games played during the regular season. The Clippers won on Nov. 13th early in the season 111-103 in L.A., then the Thunder won 105-91 in OKC eight days later. Meeting number three was Feb. 23rd in OKC and the Clippers won it 125-117 when the Thunder visited the Staples Center and took the regular season finale 107-101 April 9th in California.

The schedule and tip-off times for the Western Conference semifinals are:

Game #2: LAC @ OKC – 8:30pm Wednesday, May 7th (TNT)
Game #3: OKC @ LAC – 9:30pm Friday, May 9th (ESPN)
Game #4: OKC @ LAC – 2:30pm Sunday, May 11th (ABC)
Game #5: LAC @ OKC – TBD, Tuesday, May 13th
Game #6: OKC @ LAC – TBD, Thursday, May 15th
Game #7: LAC @ OKC – TBD, Sunday, May 18th
