MIDDLESBURG, Fla. (WOKV) – A Florida teenager could soon face charges for what she did following a bad breakup.

Authorities say 16-year-old Ankita Lavender called her father, claiming she had been kidnapped.

An Amber Alert was issued and Lavender was found about four hours later.

According to WOKV, she was reportedly found on the side of a road and claimed she had been thrown from a truck.

After speaking with police, she admitted to making up the story because she wanted sympathy from an ex-boyfriend.

Deputies are now considering charges against the teen, saying the stunt cost them several thousand dollars.
