VILONIA, Ark. – Many tornado victims never get the chance to say goodbye.

However, an Arkansas teen did get the opportunity to say a final farewell to his mother as the massive tornado approached.

KNWA reported Jeffrey Hunter’s mother, Regina Wood, could only think to tell her son he would be OK.

“First he said, ‘Mama, I’m so scared,’” Wood said.

Wood lives 20 miles away in Beebe, Arkansas, where all she could do was update her son, texting him where the EF-4 tornado was going next.

WTKR reported Hunter knew it was headed straight for him and texted his mother goodbye.

“I have a text on my phone as the tornado was hitting ‘Goodbye mama,’” Wood said.
