The U.S. Senior Open golf tournament will be played at Oak Tree National in Edmond this summer, and several members of the "Oak Tree Gang" will be among those competing for the Champions Tour major title.

Former OSU golfer and Oak Tree resident Scott Verplank will turn 50 shortly before the tournament, making him eligible for the Champions Tour.

The U.S. Senior Open will be his first Champions Tour event.

Dr. Gil Morgan is third all-time for most wins on the Champions Tour with 25 and has won three Champions Tour major titles.

Both golfers know their local knowledge of the course will help them, but there's also pressure involved to play well in front of friends and family.

Other Oak Tree residents that will be playing include Bob Tway, Willie Wood, and David Edwards.

The U.S. Senior Open starts with practice rounds July 7th-9th, and the tournament itself runs July 10th to the 14th.
