OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Zoo welcomed a few new faces last week.

The zoo says three red river hog piglets were born at the zoo on April 29.

Officials say the trio was an early Mother’s Day present for Divit, the mother.pigs

Divit came from the Los Angeles Zoo in 2010 and the father, Sir David Pigglesworth III, came from the same zoo in 2009.

The hogs originate from Africa, where they live in swamps and forests.

Although the pigs are not considered endangered, the human population continues to take over their habitat.
