UPDATE: Officials say eastbound I-40 was reopened after the injury accident but several minor wrecks are still causing slow downs for drivers.

OKLAHOMA CITY – If you are heading to the lake this weekend, you may need to find a detour this afternoon.

Officials with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol say I-40 eastbound is being temporarily shut down just west of Harrah-Newalla Rd. for an injury accident.

Around 2 p.m. Saturday, authorities say a car rolled over along the highway, injuring at least one person.

Authorities say the highway will be shut down so an EagleMed helicopter can land.

Drivers in the area are encouraged to find a detour.

Officials with OHP also say troopers are responding to multiple wrecks in the area.
