“One of the Largest Armed Forces parades in the nation” stepping off in Oklahoma

LAWTON, Okla. – One of the largest Armed Forces parades is making its way to Oklahoma.

The public is invited to see the strength of Lawton as residents celebrate those in the military with one of the largest Armed Forces Day parades in the nation.

The Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce will host the Armed Forces Day Parade on Saturday, May 17th at 10:00 a.m.

Immediately following the parade, Oklahomans will celebrate with fun, music, children’s activities and a car show in Elmer Thomas Park.

The public is also invited to stay for the “Movie in the Park” beginning at 8:45 p.m.

The parade steps off 6th Street and C Avenue north to 11th Street; right unto Gore Boulevard; to Fort Sill Boulevard; turns east on Ferris Avenue to 4th Street and ends in Elmer Thomas Park.

Oklahomans are invited  to line the streets of Lawton and join in the celebration of our men and women in the armed services.

The parade will feature 800 marching soldiers, artillery vehicles, bands, floats, unicycles, antique cars and Fort Sill’s historic Half Section.  Celebrate Armed Forces Day and show your support of our fort.
