Homeschooled family sex abuse

PERQUIMANS COUNTY, NC – Officials said six brothers and their parents are facing charges for allegedly sexually abusing a girl from the time she was 4 years old until she was 14.

WTKR reported that girl is now 16.

North Carolina officials said the parents are also changed in this case because they allegedly witnessed the abuse.

According to the report, the brothers, who are 18 to 27 years old, were all home schooled with the girl.

Deputies have been investigating the case more more than a year now.

WTRK reported one of the brothers came forward in 2012 after he had confided in someone.

Officials said they tried to speak with the girl but her parents would not allow her to speak to them.

They said the girl and her family eventually moved to Colorado Springs.

Authorities said the girl ended up speaking with Child Protective Services there.

The brothers are now being held on $150,000 bond.

The parents have been released on $15,000 bond.
