FRANCE – According to multiple reports, a desperate Frenchman went to extreme lengths to get away from his girlfriend.

According to the reports, the man cut off his electronic tag after arguing with his significant other.

The Frenchman was apparently willing to sacrifice his freedom before staying anywhere near his girlfriend.

According to The Local, “This is someone who was at the end of his sentence and couldn’t hear to be stuck at home,” the French Prosecutor said.

“So he actually cut off his tag, triggering an alert. He wanted to go back to prison,” the prosecutor added.

Sources say the 50-year-old  man was previously convicted of minor traffic offenses related to alcohol consumption.

Now, the man will spend two months behind bars after breaking parole, reports say.
